Stressivapaa alue Teijon Masuuni
The gallery’s autumn season exhibition “Stress-Free Zone” (working title) is an exhibition ensemble consisting of modern nature-themed paintings and small-scale sculptures. The exhibition is created by Heli Manner, Jukka Tuominen, and Tuija Virta—three artists from the Pirkanmaa region united by an interest in nature and the search for new forms of expression.
The Flow of Time Since 1976 – Pirkkala Art Association Celebrates 50 Years
Pirkkala Art Association celebrates its 50th anniversary with an exhibition at Galleria Villa Armas in Kangasala. The Flow of Time Since 1976 opens on 3 September and brings together a selection of contemporary works by the association’s members.
Over the course of five decades, the world and the ways of making art have changed, but the joy of creating art, the sense of community, and the desire to bring art to audiences have remained. The anniversary exhibition is a tribute to the members who have shaped the association’s history.
“An association is, above all, about people. Behind the exhibitions and events are our members, board members, artists, volunteers and partners,” says Chairperson Heli Manner.
The exhibition is juried by visual artist, art educator and researcher Ilkka Väätti. The works he has selected highlight the diverse perspectives, techniques and forms of expression represented among the association’s members.
To mark the anniversary year, the association will also publish a history covering its most recent 20 years of activities. It tells the story of exhibitions, events and the people who have shaped the association’s recent history. The publication will be available on the association’s website from the evening of the opening.
The exhibition opening and 50th anniversary celebration will take place on 11 September from 6–9 pm.

At Kuninkaankatu 30 in Tampere, the Apropoo artist group — Juha Isometsä, Pirkko Koskinen and Tuija Virta — will exhibit graphic prints in the studio window exhibition throughout April.
